Book review of “Now You See Her”
“Now You See Her” by James Patterson and Michael Lewidge
Nina Bloom is a successful lawyer and a loving mother, who would do anything to protect the life she’s made for herself in New York. She’s lying to everyone about her past, including her daughter. When Nina feels obligated to return back to Florida to defend the man who she knows isn’t to blame for his crime, her old life resurfaces — and so does her ex-husband, who she escaped from!
It’s not Chick Lit, and with all the other books I’m currently reading and the ones that are on my to-read list, reading this book in three days was the last thing I had in mind. I saw it on my dad’s table (it was a book he was currently reading and bookmarked), and read what it’s about, then read the first page. When I turned the page, I was hooked immediately and didn’t put it down for most of the weekend. The storyline had so many twists and turns that I found myself holding my breath the most of the time! I found this to be an easy, quick read — maybe because the chapters were 1 1/2 to 2 pages each. Since this was my first James Patterson book, I can’t say whether I liked the co-authoring or not, but if his other books are half as good as this was, then it’s safe to say that I’m a James Patterson fan, (I have since then downloaded more of his books on my Kindle).
I would recommend this book to anyone, no matter what preferred genre they like. If you’re going on vacation this summer, don’t forget to take Now You See Her with you — it would make for a great beach read!
