Chick Lit Goddess’s Five Favorite Reads of 2018!

December 29, 2018 2 Comments

I can’t believe that 2019 will be here in only a couple of days! Being that I was quite busy writing, I was picky about the books I read this year, and I’m happy to say that a lot of them will stick with me.

In no particular order, here are my top reads of 2018:

“Little Gray Dress” by Aimee Brown

“Bridal Girl” by Meredith Schorr

“Go On, Girl,” by Hilary Grossman

“Tequila Tequila” by Emma Hart

“Taking Her Turn” by “Alexa Riley

What were your favorite reads of the year? Leave me a comment and let me know!

Until next year, my friends, this is Isabella Louise Anderson, and I wish you all the best in 2019!

Chick Lit Goddess’s Five Favorite Reads in 2015!

As another year is upon us, it’s time for us to look back at the books Chick Lit Goddess has reviewed this year, and while we weren’t accepting many review requests, when it came time to pick our top five favorites, it was quite a challenge. To see all the book we reviewed this year, click HERE.

**Counting down from five, here are the Chick Lit Goddess’s Five Favorite Reads in 2015!:

5: “Dear Internet: It’s Me, Avery” by Jennifer Ammoscato
DearInternetIt'sMeAveryCoverPic
This book was hilarious! If you’re looking for a quick, fun, and light-hearted summer read, this is for you!

4: “A Beautiful Kind of Love” by Ellie Wade

This book is for anyone who believes in love, even when you might not end up with “the one” you thought you would, (**Note: this is Book #1 in the series).

3: “Speak Not or Forever Hold Your Peace” by Becky Monson
SpeakNowOrForeverHoldYourPeace
This book is true Chick Lit, and I cannot wait to read more of Becky’s books! (My recommendation, start with this one!)

2: “Up to I Do” by Samantha March

Even with wedding drama, this book shows that love will find its way!

1: “Plan Bea” by Hilary Grossman

Three words: Grab the tissues!

The End of the Blog Tour

June 30, 2014 7 Comments

Hello, everyone, and happy Monday!

Well, family, friends and followers, today is the last day of my Chick Lit Plus Blog Tour, but it seems like it just started. Bloggers have shared excerpts, guest posts, interviews, have written reviews of “The Right Design,” and I can’t thank them enough. It was an amazing experience. As a new author who published in March, the attention my book has received has been wonderful, mostly thanks to this tour. My sales increased (get your copy now for only $0.99!), the book was shared with more people than I could have ever imagined, and I was received into authorhood with open arms. Without Samantha, who made it so much fun, was professional and in charge of it all, I couldn’t have done it without her, (and yes, when the time comes, I will be working with her again for my next tour).

Now that I’m back from a week-long vacation (one I desperately needed) and am feeling better (YAY!), for the next few weeks, I will be working on my second draft of my next release, CARDS FROM KHLOE’S FLOWER SHOP, its blurb, and other publishing details. Wish me luck!

Hey, everyone, and happy Friday! It’s been quite busy, fun, and sometimes hectic here in my world (dealing with an inner ear problem that has caused me to experience vertigo, which isn’t fun, going to see the last George Strait concert with my sister–thank goodness I was feeling okay that night, and working on another draft of my next book, Cards from Khloe’s Flower Shop), but things are looking up, and I have some awesome news to share with you.

Fun After the Fire

April 10, 2014 1 Comment

“Fun After the Fire” by Madeleine Lakewood

Blurb: When Briana and her roommate Dan are left alone at the bonfire, their feelings–kept hidden since she first moved in–finally erupt. Can Briana resist the temptation, or are she and Dan in for a steamy night?

“Fun After the Fire” is a short 2500-word romp that’s sure to tease and please.

My Review: Madeleine Lakewood reached out to me, offering to send me her book for an honest review. I instantly downloaded it, and began reading.

Briana and Dan hooked up pretty quickly, which I didn’t mind at all because they weren’t strangers, and found there to be an innocence about their lovemaking. For any good erotica, I feel that there must be very vivid descriptions, and this book was just that — quite descriptive, but not overly done, and I felt that I was still able to use my imagination, too. Very well-written, Madeleine Lakewood!

If you’re looking for a spicy and erotica read that you can read during lunch, before bed, or perhaps to help you get in the mood, I recommend “Fun After the Fire.”

I give this book 4 stars!

MadeleineLakewoodPic**About author, Madeleine Lakewood:

Madeleine Lakewood is an upcoming erotic romance author. She likes to write stories about unrequited lust gone requited, naughty roommates, and women learning to express themselves. When she’s not writing, she indulges in tea — especially chamomile — and first kisses with naughty boys. “Fun After the Fire” is her first foray into self-publishing, with many more to come.

For the Love of Goals…

June 21, 2012 3 Comments

The past few months have been so busy and I’ve neglected my blogging friends.  For this, I apologize, but I have two exciting things to share!  Before I explain, here’s what’s coming up:

  • Friday, June 22nd, I’ll post my review of “Dreaming of Him,” by Wendy Ely, a soon-to-be guest.
  • Saturday, June 23rd, I’ll post my review of “Now You See Her,” by James Patterson
  • Friday, June 29th, I’ll post my review of “Monarch Beach,” by Anita Hughes
  • Thursday, July 12th, Paula Tiberus will be a guest
  • Thursday, July 26th, I’ll post my review of “What A Texas Girl Wants” and interview with the author, Kristina Knight
  • Saturday, August 18th, I’ll post my review of “Viewer Discretion Advised,” by Cindy Roesel
  • Saturday, August 25, I’ll post my review of “Fatty Patty,” by Kathleen Paterka
  • Wednesday, September 12th, I’ll post my review of “Breaking the Rules” and interview with the author, Cat Lavoie
Exciting stuff, huh?  Well, be sure to check back daily, because you won’t want to miss anything!

Now, for the exciting news!

Beginning the first week in September, I will be back to blogging six days a week!  I’ve started realizing that I’m now paying as much attention to my own books as I should.  Don’t get me wrong, I love reviewing, but I want to really focus on making my dream a reality.  I want to be an author!  I will still have guests and post reviews, but not as often — at least for the rest of the year.  **Note: If you’d like me to review something, please still don’t hesitate — I’m sure we can work out something.

Now, for some really, really exciting news, Chick Lit Goddess is getting a facelift, (and I’m not just talking a little Botox here or there — I’m talking about liposuction and a breast augmentation, to go along with a new personality).  I’m very excited about this adventure and hope you like/love the changes that will be made.

In the meantime, your well wishes are appreciated…
