Cary Grant:

I have had a major crush on Cary Grant since I was little.  I loved his movies and was fascinated by him from a very young age.  I found his voice alluring, his eyes mysterious but inviting, his mannerisms to be caring and loving, but most of all, I most of all was attracted to him because no matter who is onscreen love interest was, his true heroine, he put them under his spell and they fell in love.  (No matter what movie he made, I was truly under his spell).  Yes, cheesy, I know, but he made it seem so easy — boy and girl meet, fall in love and a kiss  at the end, letting me know that their love story would last a lifetime.  After watching “An Affair To Remember,” “Penny Serenade,” and “That Touch of Mink,” it was because of him, that I wanted to fall in love, forever…

Doris Day:

I can’t recall what my first Doris Day movie was, but it didn’t matter, because she was the woman wanted to be like, when I grew up.  She was the delicate blond, who was very confident in herself and wasn’t afraid to tell a man what the thinks of him, like in the movie “Pillow Talk.”  Her natural beauty, inside and out, is what I believe a true Heroine should imitate.  Ms. Day’s characters she played on-screen were courageous, fun-loving and not at all, one that would make her look bad offscreen.  She will forever be the Heroine I wish to live up to.  (I have already written a blog about the Heroine of a Lifetime — Dame Elizabeth Taylor).

Bradley Cooper:

Sexy, charming, charismatic, loving, sporty and adventurous…oh, Bradley Cooper!  When I first saw him in “He’s Just Not That Into You,” I was hooked on this man!  I literally was flabbergasted at the beauty of this man!  I can’t remember ogling over a man like I did him, in a very long time.  Bradley Cooper was my new George Clooney, the new Brad(ly) Pitt.  When my brother and husband wanted to go see “The Hangover,” I certainly did not hesitate.  Recently, I remembered that he was also in “The Wedding Crashers,” “Valentine’s Day,” but most recently, “Limitless.”  The HOT Mr. Cooper is my new fantasy man who I use my imagination with when I’m writing love scenes…oh, and I did mention how hot he is?  One thing about him is that he picks very different characters to play onscreen, which allows my fantasies to elevate.

Sandra Bullock:

When I watched one of the cheesiest movies in the early 90’s, I fell in love with Sandra Bullock.  In “Love Potion No. 9,” I could relate to her character because she was a nerd in the movie, much of how categorized myself during that time in my life.  At the end of the movie, it was as if the nerdy girl had turned into a beautiful swan, when she met her true love.  I knew, because of this movie, that nerdy girls could be loved too.  When I saw her in “Speed,” I liked how her character was so different, though she seemed to still have stunning features that the action movie needed.  When she received an Academy Award for “The Blind Side,” I was so happy for, because this beautiful, stunning, funny, caring, actress was now “America’s Sweetheart.”  I love the fact that she’s not a celebrity who is all about her, and how she claims herself to be just another (beautiful) woman in the world, and it’s because of that, that I find her to be the next Heroine of a Lifetime…

Dame Elizabeth Taylor died on March 23rd.  It was a very sad day for the world.  The Academy Award and Golden Globe winner was known for her eight marriages to seven different men, her dazzling jewelry and charity work.

When I was a young kid, I remember loving her movies.  At that time, I wasn’t a big fan of really long movies, but the movie “Giant,” was combined into two VHS tapes — I watched that movie over and over.  After that, I was hooked as an Elizabeth Taylor fan.  From “National Velvet,” “Father of the Bride,” “A Place in the Sun,” “Butterfield 8,” “Cleopatra,” “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf,” and last, but certainly not least and my personal favorite, “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,” she worked her heart out on every movie she made.

As a writer, I think that Elizabeth Taylor is the epitome of what a classic heroine should be.  They should have it all – brains, charm, radiance, sexuality, just to name a few, just like the legendary Elizabeth.
